This Episode I’m excited to introduce Laure from UniToShine as my guest to learn more about all that she does in her business and her life. We originally met through eco-meet-ups on IG and I featured on one of her wonderful IG Lives at the beginning of the year discussing the importance of building community with your business…

Here is her bio:

Hello! I’m Laure Jeremie, and I founded UniToShine to help individuals uncover their true calling and launch profitable products online, that have a positive impact on the world.

It is when I started to step back and slow down that new doors opened

I’ve been an online marketer in London for almost 10 years, working in agencies and on the client side. I’ve worked on various clients and industries including fashion, legal, travel, hospitality and many more.

For a long time, I knew that I wouldn’t do this for the rest of my life, and I needed something more aligned with my values, something that fulfilled me, without location restriction, and somehow contributing to have a positive impact on the planet.

The trigger was, almost a decade ago, I started changing my diet. The main purpose was initially for my health. I believe that nutrition is our first medicine, but along the way I’ve learnt a lot about how food can contribute to climate change.

Here’s the Podcast Episode:

Here’s the written interview:

Q1: Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself, your background and how you come from France and have ended up living in UK?

I am French, I moved to London 11 years ago after obtaining my Master degree in Business and Marketing. I came here with the intention to spend 6 months improving my English but I had a really good career opportunity and met my husband. That’s why I stayed.

I am an experienced Business and Marketing Specialist with 13 years’ experience leading the marketing & digital transformation of small and complex global brands in the online industry via the alignment of data, people, process and technology to corporate goals and customer growth strategies.

My core competencies lie in Marketing strategy and Project management.

In my professional career I’ve been managing agencies and a team as well as working in-house and agency side.

Q2: What is UniToShine and why did you decide to set it up?

After years working in corporate I was looking for something that was more aligned with my values and lifestyle. I wanted to use my professional experience and knowledge for causes close to my heart.

UniToShine helps individuals looking to start a purpose driven business and small conscious businesses to grow. UniToShine offers a coaching program and membership to support this conscious entrepreneur community.

I decided to set it up because I wanted to help people struggling and unhappy in their job find their purpose while having a positive impact on the planet. But also because I knew from my background and professional experience that I could help them to achieve it.

Q3: Do you currently consider yourself a multi-hyphenate and if so what are your hyphens?

I think there are so many positives to having different skills and being flexible and adaptable

I believe so because I had to pivot a few times in my professional career, plus with the current pandemic it forced all of us to adapt and be creative. Also when you are an entrepreneur it is best to have multiple income streams.

Q4: What are your future goals for UniToShine as a brand? What lights you up about the future?

I wish I could help as many people as possible so they can have their own positive impact with the launch of their business. What lights me up is to see that more and more people want to start a business for good and I am glad I can be part of this transformation.

Q5: What is Eco about UniToShine?

UniToShine works with conscious entrepreneurs, people who want to use the power of running their own business for good. Companies have the power to hugely contribute to reverse climate change and UniToShine is supporting the movement of this new generation of entrepreneurs.

Q6: How has the pandemic changed how you work? What are your biggest pros to come out of it and your biggest challenges?

The pandemic forced all of us to adapt, rethink, change. On so many levels it brought so many opportunities. Thanks to the pandemic I met and collaborated with many like minded people. The pandemic gave UniToShine a chance to grow and serve more people looking to take the leap to entrepreneurship.

Q7: Do you have any books/ podcasts/ films you would recommend?

For books I will recommend: Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones (James Clear), Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life | Jim Kwik and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One by Joe Dispenza.

For podcasts, the UniToShine podcast for like minded people looking to start or grow a purpose driven-business and also the podcast Mindvalley.

https://open.spotify.com/show/3hxBzAXHSMDsSp7Io7EaVO?si=imd3gOHsQWq_8Tvp3urCzA

For movies I will say: Minimalist, Seaspiracy and The True Cost

Q8: What’s your favourite thing about developing your brand so far?

I will say it is to be my own boss, have my own schedule, do what I like, work with the people I want to work with, pursue my mission and vision and have my own positive impact on the world.

Q9: Do you have any Eco/wellbeing tips from your own life for my tribe?

Outside your work you MUST find time to take care of yourself. It is not sustainable to work crazy hours because at some point your body won’t be able to take it anymore. What I do is I have a healthy diet and make my own meals, I don’t eat processed food, I eat mainly a raw diet and I buy organic products. Buying organic is slightly more expensive however there are ways to make it accessible. For example, I don’t eat meat, fish or dairy products. I don’t buy clothes, the last time I bought clothes was nearly 3 years ago. I don’t buy fancy beauty products or any else. I live a minimalist life. I believe that what we put in our body is the most important and this is my first priority. Nourishing myself with good and healthy food.

I exercise every day, on weekdays I usually do yoga and dance for 30 minutes and on weekends I go for long walks.

The most important thing is to make sure we breathe pure air (I love having air purifier plants at home), we hydrate ourselves well, we sleep and eat well.

Self care doesn’t mean spending a lot of money on retreats, beauty salons, etc. It is all about focusing on the basis and listening to our body. It is OK to take some time off.

Q10: Where can people find you online?

I hope you find this an interesting read/watch/listen, I do hope to expand this section of my blog further to talk to inspiring women from all walks of life to get an insight into their worlds. Please do drop me a line at gill@jamjargill.com if you are interested in getting involved in my next 10 Questions post 🙂
