Holistic Health Podcast

My holistic health podcast is for women looking for natural alternatives to wellbeing. You can still listen on Spotify, YouTube or iTunes – and the next chapter is moving to Substack.

What is the Holistic Health Podcast?

I created this podcast in 2020, during my own healing journey after becoming a Mum. I was searching for natural ways to support my body, mind and emotions – and the more I learnt, the more I felt called to share it.

From 2020 to 2024, I recorded open, honest conversations with incredible guests in the holistic health world – yoga and meditation teachers, energy healers, reiki therapists, trauma specialists and more. Each episode was created to empower you to become your own health advocate and to explore wellbeing in a more natural, informed way.

Where can you listen?

All past episodes are still available on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts.

What’s next?

The podcast is currently on pause while I transition into sharing more via Substack. That’s where I’ll be continuing this work – through audio notes, reflective posts and a growing community space for women on a similar path.

If the podcast spoke to you, I’d love you to join me there.

S01 | E02: Sarah Root: Where Nutrition Meets Hormones JamJarGill Podcast

For this month's episode, I have pulled my conversation with Sarah Root from the podcast archives, partly because I've actually been working with Sarah recently on my own gut health and hormone journey.Sarah is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met when it comes to nutrition and its effect on hormones, so when I started struggling with this myself, I knew exactly who to call.Sarah's path into nutrition was shaped by her own fertility journey, which led her from a successful corporate career into helping women better understand their bodies through nutrition, lifestyle and hormone-informed health coaching. Our conversation starts there, but soon expands into periods, PMS, fertility, stress, perimenopause, contraception, and why so many women reach adulthood without really understanding how their hormones work.Along the way, we explore: Why women's health education is still leaving so many gapsThe connection between stress, nutrition and hormonal balanceHow food can support hormone health and fertilityWhy understanding your cycle can be incredibly empoweringThe importance of becoming your own health advocateWhat I admire about Sarah's approach is that she encourages women to get curious about their bodies. Rather than simply accepting symptoms as something to put up with, she helps women understand what might be contributing to them and where they can make supportive changes. One of the things I love most about running this podcast is how every conversation teaches me something new or gets me thinking about something in a different way.One of my key takeaways from this conversation was the idea that our bodies are constantly giving us information, but most of us have never been taught how to interpret the signals. Whether that's through our energy levels, mood, sleep, stress levels or menstrual cycles, there is often more information available to us than we realise. If you've ever struggled with PMS, fertility challenges, hormonal symptoms, or you've found yourself wondering whether there might be a deeper reason behind how you're feeling, I think you'll find plenty of food for thought in this episode.✨ Want to hear the FULL episode? You can listen to the full episode on my Substack membership, where members get access to extended podcast conversations, bonus content, and a growing library of holistic health resources and discussions.Subscribe here:Join the JamJarGill Substack MembershipThank you so much for supporting independent holistic health conversations and being part of this community 💛
