This week I have been given the opportunity to product test the Baby Art Limited Edition Carolyn Gavin Magic Box Baby Hand/Footprint Casting Tin – Which includes 2 Animal Door Jammers – Hello Baby Flowers. As this product is perfect for newborns I asked my lovely neighbour Becky, who as recently had a baby girl if she would like to help me product test it and keep it as her newborn gift from us, she happily obliged 🙂
The set came in a very neat little box which could be easily wrapped up if you chose to give this as a gift, which I think it would make a lovely gift to a new parent/ parent-to-be.
There is basic instructions on the back, along with a QR code to an instructional video (which I have included below) and full clear instructions on the inside of the packet to talk you through step by step how to make this lovely keepsake:

The product came packed well and was easy to use. It doesn’t require any mixing or painting and can be done in a couple of minutes!
We did this when our baby was asleep. We thought it would be better for a more compliant print. I prepared the clay by rolling it into an evenly spread circle and then pushed my daughters feet and toes into the clay. Unfortunately this does cause some shift in the surface and a couple of small cracks and bumps. Although the instructions didn’t suggest it, I did use a little water to smooth over the surface to overcome this and to emphasise the print.
Getting the shape and positioning was a little fussy but I think that depends on how much of a perfectionist you are and what look you are hoping to achieve.
Drying time is up to five days, for which I just left it in sunlight on the kitchen windowsill. During that time the clay took a shiny look before going matt white. At five days it felt a little spongy if pushed firm but had clearly dried out.
I like this product. The end effect was attractive. It was easy to use and self contained for either storage or display.
