This week I am testing another one of the products which I was gifted by A Fine Choice as I have happily joined their influencer program. In this post I am going to be product testing Patch Biodegradable Bamboo Plasters.

I currently don’t use plasters very often to be honest, but with 3 year old twin boys I have a feeling that this is very much about to become a big part of our world, so having ones which are made from breathable, fully natural and compostable fabric is a huge benefit.
Traditional plasters have so much plastic and nasties in them and just simply don’t go anywhere when you depose of them at the end of use, also a lot of people have a reaction to them, these are so pure by comparison, they are 100% natural, and the full range includes pure bamboo, aloe vera, charcoal & coconut oil.
I love that the whole thing, including all the packaging is completely compostable 🙂 so you can now use plasters completely guilt free – win win win!

Patch organic strips are the natural approach to wound care. Our Patch bamboo plasters are made of 100% certified organic bamboo fibre and are 100% compostable.
Activated charcoal has been known to neutralize many different kinds of pathogens that directly or indirectly produce or promote infection. It can absorb poisons and toxins, taking them up through the permeable skin layers and remove them from the body. Once impurities are removed, the skin’s healing process starts.

Here’s the story of how PATCH PLASTERS came about in the first place (source):
Multiple award-winning PATCH Bamboo Strip Bandages is getting major attention from the European market for its amazing hypoallergenic, zero waste packaging and compostable solution that aims to fix a major market problem!

PATCH was born when James Dutton (the founder of Nutricare) noticed that while trying to protect his son’s adventure wounds his skin was in fact reacting badly to a common wound covering and making the wound worse.
This puzzled James and he set off on his mission to find out why. He was shocked to discover that there is an array of chemicals that lurk in the common plasters. He became motivated to find better alternatives when he found that Charlie wasn’t alone with his reactions. His research found that a staggering number of the of the world’s population can’t wear common wound care coverings, which was predicted to be on rise.
The other side of James’ motivations were spurred on by his other son, Xavier, who hates putting creams on his skin. As parents you can get pretty creative with ways to put an anti-septic/anti-bacterial cream on the plaster, but no matter what was tried, Xavier would always know and often tantrums would follow.
Ultimately the wish for a wound care product that wouldn’t cause nasty skin reactions and serve as a way to help heal the wounds was the real reason for PATCH.
PATCH is an incredible natural alternative that won’t confine his sons to the couch when there is still exploring to be done or footy to be played!
Learning that an ever-growing number of the population react or are allergic to the current wound covering solutions only propelled the business to where it is today.
Taking it from just an idea into thousands of stores in Australia and now growing globally.

PATCH is an advanced new range of natural adhesive plasters designed to support wound recovery with 100% organic bamboo fibre and mineral based Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA). The range features four products, PATCH NATURAL, PATCH COCONUT OIL KIDS, PATCH ALOE VERA and PATCH ACTIVATED CHARCOAL, enriched with aloe vera, coconut oil, activated charcoal and pure bamboo gauze. All ingredients are historically proven to soothe symptoms and help assist the natural wound recovery from minor cuts, grazes, abrasions and bites.
PATCH strips are also 100% compostable and have been independently tested and fully compost into the soil in a matter of weeks. The product is made sustainably from bamboo and manufactured close to the source where the bamboo is grown to minimize environmental impact.
“What began as a need for my son, has now turned into a worldwide venture. PATCH has shaken up the global wound care market and It is fantastic to see such expansion” James Dutton, Founder.
