I received this Skip*Hop Pronto Changing Station to product test at an excellent time in terms of my twin’s age and stage, unfortunately, it seems that most changing bags, including my own, come with a teeny tiny travel changing mat which once you pass newborn generally just stays in your bag as it is not much use to man nor beast (I choose this phrase for conversation, but actually babies do seem to become more and more beast-like at change time as time goes by…see illustration of this point below…).
Anyway… for my twins, now 16 and almost 17 months this travel-changing mat is the perfect solution for out and about. Especially around other people’s houses on playdates or in a public place when there is no formal changing table available.
It is clearly very well-made and well-thought-out. It comes in a variety of lovely fabrics including this zig-zag zebra print which we are testing, which is plain enough to go with our other changing bag whilst looking stylish too – there’s lovely detailing, quality zips and a place for keys or clip-on toys and plenty of pockets.
It is very neat when folded up but a very decent size when unfolded and includes a lovely padded pillow for your baby’s head, a really nice feature of the product to make it far more comfy for your littles.
You can comfortably fit a full-size pack of wipes and a couple of nappies in the internal pockets and a nappy bag or two and be able to fold it all neatly up again, so it’s perfect if you are just popping to the park with a lightweight buggy and don’t want to be weighed down with your full changing bag. There is also a handy clip to attach it to your buggy, your main changing bag or yourself :). There is also a plastic case which comes with it if you choose to use travel baby wipes like the ones below to keep them nice and wet for usage.
Overall I have to say I am very impressed with this as a product and I would recommend it, and most certainly will be using it regularly going forward.
