Yoga 🧘🏼♀️ on YouTube has changed my life this past year. 😊 I’ve been practising yoga weekly since I was 15 (20 years!) but in throughout the last year I have done a video every morning before the kids come downstairs. It’s amazing what a difference it makes, between 5 and 20 mins practice to start your day, every day, it really is nourishment for both body and soul. My favourite teachers are @adrienelouise & @colechanceyoga.

I have been adding suggested favourite videos to my weekly newsletter (please sign up here, I’d love you to join my newsletter tribe) but I thought I would begin the new year by featuring some of my favourite videos of the last year. I plan to make yoga a bigger part of my blog, as it has become a bigger part of my life, in the next year and a have a few collaborations to feature and interview local yoga teachers and what they offer coming up for you in the next few months.
My current practice is a video every morning to start my day, here’s some of my favourites:
A video to end my day before bed, this is currently far less frequent, but I’m going to try and make it just as much of a habit as my morning ritual throughout 2020, here’s a couple of my favourites for you to check out:
Then at the weekends when I, in theory, have a bit more time I am working through Yoga with Adriene’s – 30 days of yoga, one video a weekend, this works for me right now, as I don’t have the 20/25 mins per video every day at the moment, but I do love doing a longer practice now. I am currently working through her Dedicate Series, but when I finish that I plan to look at some of her other ones and work through them in a similar manner. 🙂
I then do a local evening class once a week at the Granary and currently once a month do a longer evening class for Women’s Wellbeing, which I love as it is such a therapeutic space and we start each class with a sharing circle followed by a specialist yoga flow designed specifically for women. I also do do day retreats on weekends a couple of times a year and a gong bath or two when I can fit it in.

Finally, I am successfully getting my toddler twins into yoga too with help of the wonderful Cosmic Kids YouTube channel which tells moralistic stories and teaches mindfulness and adapts all the moves for kids, it’s so great and again a free resource. The boys would only concentrate for 5 mins initially, but after about 6 months of doing it regularly they now will happily do a 15-30 min video and focus throughout giving each move a proper try which makes me so proud. I’m so pleased they are into yoga too, I hope they get as much from it as I do in their lives 😊🧘🏼♀️❤️🙏🏼.

This is my favourite mat I have found this year for home practice:

Are you a fellow yogi? Is it something you’ve been looking into starting in 2020? I do hope you find the resources above helpful, I’d love to hear of any other videos or local classes you’d recommend. I’d also love to do a collaborative post if you are local to me, please drop me a line gill@jamjargill.com to find out any more 🙂 Namaste
