I’ve been wracking my brains for the best way to illustrate to you the transformation which has taken place in our back garden since the beginning of 2020… And I think that the best way to get the whole picture is to have a few photos a month (since we finally decided to tackle it head-on), along with a couple of photos from when we moved in and the jungle it became for reference… We are by no means finished with the massive project, which is our back garden, but with help of two wonderful local gardening firms (Hammonds Maintenance Ltd & WoodCourt Gardening Services ) we are most certainly making strides in the right direction.
I’ve said it before, but I will say it again: there is absolutely no shame in asking for help! We bought our house due to the potential and size of the garden, but then doing up the house took over, and we didn’t have the time or money to give to the garden, or so we thought at the time, so it literally turned into a jungle! I only wish we had, without any shame, justified getting a fortnightly gardener before kids, when we were both on full time incomes, just to keep on top of things, as it would have been affordable and we won’t have got to the point where we had a bramble jungle which completely defeated and depressed us to the point where we didn’t use the garden hardly at all for years as we didn’t know where to begin. So hear me when I say – there is no shame in getting help and if I could turn back time I would most certainly have got it sooner! Anyway, soap box moment over – here is the story so far of our back garden…
